What To Expect

1

Day 1: Casablanca → Rabat → Tangier

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, you’ll be welcomed by your driver-guide and begin an orientation tour of the city, including a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque — the second-largest mosque in the world and one of the few open to non-Muslim visitors — and a stroll through the old medina. Continue north to Rabat, Morocco’s UNESCO-listed political capital, where you’ll explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, the ornate Hassan Tower, the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the ancient ruins of Chellah. As the afternoon light fades, head onwards to Tangier for dinner and overnight.

2

Day 2: Tangier → Chefchaouen

After breakfast, take time to explore Tangier — a captivating port city with a rich literary and artistic heritage, once home to writers, painters, and diplomats from around the world. Wander its atmospheric medina and clifftop kasbah before departing south into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, Morocco’s legendary blue city. Tucked into the hillside, its cobalt-washed alleyways and relaxed mountain atmosphere make it one of the most enchanting stops on any Morocco journey. Dinner and overnight in a riad.

3

Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fez

After a morning stroll through Chefchaouen’s blue-painted streets, head east with stops at two of Morocco’s most historically significant sites. First, the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with remarkably intact mosaics, a triumphal arch, and 2,000-year-old forums. Then on to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, where you’ll pass through the monumental Bab Mansour gate, visit the royal stables and granaries, and pay your respects at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Continue to Fez for dinner and overnight in a traditional riad.

4

Day 4: Fez — full-day guided medina tour

Spend a full day immersed in Fez el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free urban area and a living UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your expert guide leads you through the labyrinthine souks, past the Quaraouiyine Mosque (founded 859 AD, considered the world’s oldest university), the Andalusian Mosque, the Nejjarine Fountain, 13th-century Koranic schools (Medersas), the Batha Palace Museum, the famous Chouara Tanneries, Souk Attarine, the iconic blue-and-green-tiled Bab Boujloud gate, and the 17th-century Ibn Danan Synagogue in the Mellah quarter. End the afternoon with panoramic views over the ancient medina from the hilltop Borj Nord. Overnight in Fez.

5

Day 5: Fez → Ifrane → Midelt → Erfoud

An epic cross-country drive takes you over the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop in Ifrane — a charming Alpine-style town built by the French in the 1930s, strikingly out of place in the Moroccan landscape. Wind through cedar forests and Berber villages before pausing for lunch in Midelt, Morocco’s fossil and mineral capital. Continue south through the dramatic Ziz Valley, with its towering canyon walls and sweeping palm groves, arriving in Erfoud as the desert light turns golden. Dinner and overnight at your kasbah hotel.

6

Day 6: Erfoud → Rissani → Merzouga

After breakfast, visit Rissani — the historic first capital of the Alaouite dynasty — exploring its ancient kasbahs and lively traditional souk, where you can sample local Berber pizza for lunch. Continue deeper into the desert, passing black volcanic rock formations and remote villages, with a stop in El Khamlia to listen to hypnotic Gnawa Saharan music. Arrive in Merzouga at the foot of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. After mint tea at the camp, mount your camel and ride into the golden dunes to watch the sunset paint the Sahara. Dinner with Saharan drums and overnight in a traditional Berber tent.

7

Day 7: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Rise early for a breathtaking Sahara sunrise before a traditional Berber breakfast and departure along the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs — one of Morocco’s most cinematic drives, threading through ancient mud-brick villages, lush palmeries, and dramatic river valleys. Stop for lunch and a walk through the towering Todra Gorge in Tinghir, where 300-metre rock walls rise dramatically on either side of a crystal-clear mountain stream. Continue to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.

8

Day 8: Dades → Ouarzazate → Aït Benhaddou → Marrakech

After breakfast, visit Ouarzazate — Morocco’s cinematic capital — exploring the Kasbah Taourirt and the legendary Atlas Film Studios, the largest in Africa, whose sets have brought Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia to life. Head to the extraordinary Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage fortified village rising dramatically from the surrounding desert. Then climb north over the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2,260m) through the High Atlas, past tumbling waterfalls and Berber villages, before descending into the warmth and energy of Marrakech. Dinner and overnight in a riad.

9

Day 9: Marrakech — full-day guided medina tour

A full day to fall in love with the Red City. Your guided tour takes in the serene Menara Gardens, the soaring 12th-century Koutoubia Minaret, the hushed splendour of the Saadian Tombs, the rich Berber collections of the Dar Si Said Museum, and the lavishly decorated Bahia Palace. After lunch at a local restaurant, lose yourself in the colour and chaos of Marrakech’s legendary souks — spices, leather, ceramics, lanterns, and silk at every turn. The day ends with a sunset drink overlooking the mesmerising spectacle of Jemaa el-Fna square, alive with storytellers, musicians, and street food. Dinner and overnight in your riad.

Day 10: Marrakech — departure

After breakfast, depending on your departure time, enjoy a private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport or Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. Your 10-day Moroccan adventure draws to a close — but the golden dunes, ancient medinas, Imperial Cities, and warmth of the Moroccan people will stay with you long after you return home.
