What To Expect

1

Day 1: Casablanca — arrival & city tour

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, you’ll be welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, your orientation tour covers the broad Haussmann-style avenues, the labyrinthine streets of the old medina, United Nations Square, Place Mohammed V, the Anfa residential district, the scenic Corniche boulevard, and the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the second-largest mosque in the world and one of the few open to non-Muslim visitors. Dinner and overnight in Casablanca.

2

Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat → Meknes → Fez

After breakfast, head north with a stop in Rabat, Morocco’s UNESCO-listed political capital, where you’ll explore the red-ochre crenellated walls, the authentic medina souks, the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the breathtaking Hassan Tower — a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture adorned with materials from around the world. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, where you’ll pass through the monumental Bab Mansour gate, visit the royal stables and granaries, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the Dar Jamai Museum of Moroccan Arts. Continue to Fez for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Fez — full-day guided medina tour

Spend a full day immersed in Fez el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free urban area and a living UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your expert guide leads you through the labyrinthine souks, past the Quaraouiyine Mosque (founded 859 AD, considered the world’s oldest university), the Andalusian Mosque, the Nejjarine Fountain, 13th-century Koranic schools (Medersas), the Batha Palace Museum, the famous Chouara Tanneries, Souk Attarine, the iconic blue-and-green-tiled Bab Boujloud gate, the Mellah quarter, and the 17th-century Ibn Danan Synagogue. End the afternoon with panoramic views over the ancient medina from the hilltop Borj Nord at sunset. Overnight in Fez.

4

Day 4: Fez → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga

An epic cross-country drive takes you over the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop in Ifrane — a charming Alpine-style town built by the French in the 1930s, strikingly out of place in the Moroccan landscape — and a visit to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. Wind through Berber villages, mountain springs, and jagged rock faces before pausing for lunch in Midelt, Morocco’s fossil and mineral capital. Continue south through the breathtaking Ziz Gorges and sweeping palm oasis before arriving in Merzouga. After mint tea at the kasbah, mount your camel and ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Berber tent.

5

Day 5: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Ouarzazate

Rise early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise before taking the camels back to the hotel for a shower and rest. Depart along the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Rissani — the historic first capital of the Alaouite dynasty — to explore its ancient kasbahs and vibrant traditional souk. Continue through Erfoud and the dramatic Dades Valley, with a stop for lunch and a walk through the towering Todra Gorge, where 300-metre rock walls rise on either side of a crystal-clear mountain stream. Arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

6

Day 6: Ouarzazate → Aït Benhaddou → Marrakech

Begin the morning exploring Ouarzazate — Morocco’s cinematic capital — with a visit to the Kasbah Taourirt and the legendary Atlas Film Studios, the largest in Africa. Head to the extraordinary Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage fortified village that has served as a backdrop for Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia, where you’ll stop for lunch before exploring its ancient towers and earthen ramparts. Then climb north over the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2,260m) through the High Atlas, past tumbling waterfalls, traditional Berber villages, and an ever-changing tapestry of colour and rock, before descending into the warmth and energy of Marrakech.

7

Day 7: Marrakech — full-day guided medina tour

A full day to fall in love with the Red City. Your guided tour takes in the serene Menara Gardens, the soaring 12th-century Koutoubia Minaret, the hushed splendour of the Saadian Tombs, the rich Berber collections of the Dar Si Said Museum, and the lavishly decorated Bahia Palace. After lunch at a local restaurant, lose yourself in the colour and chaos of Marrakech’s legendary souks — spices, leather, ceramics, lanterns, and silk at every turn. The day ends with a sunset drink overlooking the mesmerising spectacle of Jemaa el-Fna square, alive with storytellers, musicians, and street food. Dinner and overnight in your riad.

Day 8: Marrakech — departure

After breakfast, depending on your departure time, enjoy a private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport for the end of your Moroccan adventure. The ancient medinas, golden dunes, cinematic kasbahs, and warmth of the Moroccan people will stay with you long after you return home.
