Day 1: Marrakech / Ouarzazate / Rose Valley / Merzouga

After meeting you at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, your Morocco Sahara desert tour begins with a scenic drive through the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, traditional Berber villages, panoramic mountain views, and photo stops before continuing toward Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses, and the beautiful Dades Valley.

As the journey continues toward Erg Chebbi, you will arrive at a traditional kasbah located at the edge of the golden Sahara dunes in Merzouga. After relaxing with refreshing Moroccan mint tea, your camel trekking experience in Merzouga begins. Guided by experienced local camel guides, you will ride across the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi while admiring one of the most unforgettable Sahara desert sunsets in Morocco.

After approximately one hour of camel trekking, you will reach your luxury desert camp or traditional Berber camp in the heart of the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, enjoy authentic Moroccan hospitality, a delicious traditional dinner, and an evening around the campfire with Berber music, drums, and songs performed by local nomads of Southern Morocco. Spend the night under the stars in your comfortable desert tent surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Moroccan Sahara.

Note: on Day 2 you have the choice to go back either to Marrakech or Fes.

Day 2 Option 1: Merzouga / Rissani / Ziz Valley / Midelt / Fes

Early in the morning, wake up before sunrise to enjoy a peaceful walk over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and witness a breathtaking Sahara Desert sunrise near the Algerian border, around 50 km from Merzouga. The calm desert atmosphere, soft morning light, and panoramic views over the dunes make this one of the most unforgettable moments of your Morocco Sahara tour.

After sunrise, return to the camp for breakfast and time to freshen up before departure. Your journey then continues toward Fes, passing through Rissani, one of the oldest towns in the region and a historic gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Continue through the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves, dramatic landscapes, traditional Berber villages, and scenic viewpoints. Along the way, enjoy short stops for photos, rest, and panoramic views before continuing toward Midelt, located between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains.

After crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, the route continues through cedar forests, mountain landscapes, and charming towns before reaching Fes in the afternoon or evening, marking the end of your unforgettable desert tour from Marrakech to Fes.

Day 2 Option 2: Merzouga / Dades Valley / Ouarzazate / High Atlas / Marrakech

Early in the morning, wake up before sunrise to enjoy a peaceful walk over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and witness a breathtaking Sahara Desert sunrise near the Algerian border, around 50 km from Merzouga. After this peaceful start to your day, return to the camp for breakfast and time to freshen up before departure.

We begin our journey back toward Marrakech, crossing the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, a route known for its dramatic landscapes, ancient adobe fortresses, traditional villages, and beautiful desert scenery. Along the way, enjoy short scenic stops to stretch, take photos, or explore small local villages.

Continuing through the captivating Dades Valley and the surrounding landscapes of southern Morocco, the road leads toward Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert and known for its kasbahs, film studios, and impressive mountain views.

From Ouarzazate, we ascend into the majestic High Atlas Mountains through the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of Morocco’s most impressive mountain roads, offering panoramic views of rugged terrain, winding roads, and Berber villages.

Arrival in Marrakech is expected around 20:00, more or less, depending on road conditions and stops, marking the end of your unforgettable journey across southern Morocco.
