After meeting you at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, your journey begins with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains. We cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest major mountain pass in Morocco at 2,260 meters, following a winding road filled with breathtaking views.
Along the way, the landscape changes beautifully from the plains around Marrakech to colorful mountain slopes, small Berber villages, valleys, and panoramic viewpoints. We can stop at the top of the pass to enjoy a refreshing glass of Moroccan mint tea and take photos of the surrounding Atlas Mountains.
The journey continues toward the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most famous fortified villages in Morocco. As part of your private tour, we arrive in time for lunch before visiting this historic ksar, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ait Ben Haddou is also known for its role in many international films and series, including Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky, and others.
In the morning, after breakfast, you can enjoy a short walk through the impressive Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural sites, known for its high canyon walls and dramatic scenery. Afterward, we continue along the famous Road of 1000 Kasbahs, passing through Tinghir, palm groves, traditional villages, and the historic Jewish quarter before reaching Rissani in time for lunch.
In Rissani, you will have time to explore the lively local market, known for its authentic atmosphere and traditional desert trade. We may also visit some of the historic kasbahs in the area, giving you a deeper look into the region’s culture and heritage.
After lunch, the journey continues toward Merzouga, where the golden Erg Chebbi dunes rise at the edge of the Sahara Desert. We arrive before sunset, where your camel guide will be waiting to take you on a memorable camel trek across the dunes.
As the sun sets over the Sahara, you will ride through the soft sand toward your desert camp. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under a sky full of stars, followed by a peaceful night in a comfortable Berber tent. This unforgettable Merzouga desert camp experience is one of the highlights of your Morocco luxury desert tour, offering a magical mix of adventure, culture, and Sahara beauty.
